Meet John McKee -

One of America's Leading Executive Coaches

Since getting involved with coaching back in 1988, John has been involved in many industries and business types.  He's led companies ranging in size from 3 person start-ups to billion dollar, national organizations with offices across North America.  In short, this man's got experience!  Here he is in his own words:

"People ask me all the time, "Why is a man writing a book about women in management?" It's a fair question, and my answer is simple: We need more women leading more of our largest corporations in this country. For at least 10 reasons, it is important that men start helping to change the current and frankly unacceptable situation whereonly about 5% of these organizations have female CEOs.

1. 51% of our population is female
2. Organizations with women at the helm usually have better shareholder ROI
3. America is losing its preeminence in the world's business community, we need new approaches
4. We need new ways of doing business, reflecting the demographics of our society
5. Too many men are still gender-biased. They often don't even know it.
6. Female-led organizations are usually at the forefront of community-based initiatives
7, Gen X and Millenniums are not accepting traditional male designed hierarchies
8. Management styles of new businesses led by women are more egalitarian in nature; this in turn promotes greater team spirit, leading to faster progress and competitive response
9. Studies show that greater diversity in the executive suite promotes greater innovation
10. Women leaders can be just as tough as men, when required.

Nearly 40 years after feminism took hold, the balance of power in business doesn't look anything like the ratio of genders.

Clearly, the 'sisterhood' needs some assistance from their brothers. I mean, isn't it just absolutely stupid that in 2006, when this book was published, women are still lining up for the restrooms in theaters and public places while the guys have empty stations in theirs?"

"I'd strongly recommend John to anyone looking for great talent. He is one of those rare individuals with the right mix of well defined business acumen and human skills. He is forward thinking: and often causes other successful executives to reconsider their entrenched approaches and opinions."

- W.A.Casamo, past President DIRECTV
